The 2008 Sea-To-Sea Bike tour: 219 cyclists. 6246 km. 3881 miles. 62 days. The largest cross-continental bike tour ever. Starting in Seattle on June 28, and ending in Jersey City on Aug 30.
Why? This is all about raising awareness and raising money to help fight the root causes of global poverty.
Justin, looking at Art's blog and comments shouts, "Hey, Aunt Amy left a comment!" I didn't even know that Justin knew about the comment section. I wonder how long it will take him to find this comment.
Just in case people are reading these comments ... Art phoned and said he had a great ride today! A tail wind helped and he rode with some strong bikers and had a good first day.
Tomorrow is a long day (153 km) with a forecasted head wind, so that's a bit of a concern.
PS. Justin found out right away, as he came in the room just as I was finishing up, so he wanted to see what I was doing.
This Summer, August of 2008, I'm in for the adventure of a lifetime, as I join the Sea To Sea tour in Grand Rapids for the final segment of the tour -- Michigan to New Jersey.
In this blog I will document my preparations, and later my trip.
Join with us in working to end the cycles of poverty!
